Thomas Toussaint Band
The common passion for the blues is what caused four young musicians to find each other which resulted in the ‘Thomas Toussaint Band’. The sources from where this four piece drains their inspiration are Chicago blues, swing, Louisiana swamp, rock ‘n roll and New Orleans. Important people in this vein of music are Jimmy Reed, B.B. King, Jimmy Rogers, Magic Sam, but also influences such as Jimmy McGriff, Jack McDuff and Louis Jordan.
The band plays the blues with an untamable dedication as it is supposed to be played, but also knows how to add their own interpretation to it. With their passion for blues music, this band clearly shows that the genre is hot commodity for all ages from 18 till 80.
“Thomas Toussaint is one of the few young blues harmonica players staying true to the blues tradition but keeping an open mind. Thomas reminds me of myself at that age – totally excited by and into the blues genre as an all-consuming passion. I’m feeling he can do nothing but grow with talent!” – Mark Hummel, Castro Valley, CA.
